STATE OF MIND
The Conversation...Lord, I thank you for this day. We thank you for your grace mercy and loving kindness. God, we acknowledge you as King and Jesus as Savior over our lives. God, we realize that no one can love, protect, or guide us like you. God you are amazing and magnificent in our sight and we know that their is no one who loves or cares for us like you do. God, protect us on this day. Give us insight and direction on our purpose and destiny. Give provision and resources to meet our needs. We put our faith, hope, and trust in you. We thank you for the grace and mercy that you bestow on us each day and acknowledge your presence in our lives. We love you and bless you God. In Jesus Name Amen. The Affirmation...God is King and Jesus is Savior in my Life. I love them with all my heart. For God is the King of all the earth; sign to him a psalm of praise, Psalm 47:7 For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11 The Resource...The Word!Which Testament is Number One? Bible Reading: 1 John 2:7-11 I am not writing a new commandment, for it is an old one you have always had. .. to love one another. 1 John 2:7 TRUE OR FALSE: When Jesus came to earth, he tossed all the commands of the Old Testament on the back burner. He made them no longer important. If you answered true, sorry. Jesus said, “I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to fulfill them” (Matthew 5: 17). The New Testament command to love God and people summarizes the Ten Commandments. It isn’t a substitute for them. In God’s Old Testament laws you find practical guidance for fulfilling God’s command to love. Each ofthe Ten Commandments teaches you the loving thing to do-and the unloving thing to avoid-in your relationship with God and others.
In his commands to “do this” and “don’t do that,” God wisely and clearly spelled out what love looks like. You have an incredibly caring God! REFLECT: Say it in your own words: What good do Old Testament laws do you? PRAY: Ask God to teach you right and wrong through his unchanging commands. ©2016 Josh McDowell Ministry. All reserved.
