STATE OF MIND
Father God, I thank you for waking us up on this morning. I thank you for keeping us as we go through our day. We thank you for the wonderful blessings you constantly bring into our lives. I ask that you cover us as we go through school and work. I pray that we remain focused on the tasks given to us. I pray that all attacks of the enemy will be turned away. I pray that families will remain strong and friendships will be unbroken. I pray that as we near spring break, you will keep our minds in school. I ask for good grades that exceeds expectations and for good SAT scores. In your name I pray, Amen
I decree and declare that today I will not be defeated and shall be victorious over every situation!
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthins 15:57 (NIV)
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31 (NIV)
The Resource...The Word...
The Biggest No-Brainer of Them All
Bible Reading: Romans 8:31-39
Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:39)
LET’S TAKE a little quiz. For each statement below, check either true or false.
□ True □ False Fire is hot.
□ True □ False Water is wet.
□ True □ False A rock is hard.
□ True □ False The sky is up.
□ True □ False Pickles are disgusting.
All right, how did you do? Now, you may have a different opinion about pickles than other people-though that doesn’t mean they’re not disgusting — but all in all that was a pretty easy quiz, right? What made it so easy? The statements represent basic facts and knowledge. Every statement — okay, except maybe the last one — are no-brainers. Everyone knows they are true simply because they are.
Here are a few more statements. Check true or false for each.
□ True □ False God loves you.
□ True □ False God will always love you.
□ True □ False Absolutely nothing can separate you from God’s love.
Do you think those statements are still no-brainers? You should. They are even more true than the first set. As you live the Spirit-filled life with its difficulties, the reality of God’s constant love is your anchor.
Now let’s try one more quiz. Check true or false for each statement.
□ True □ False God’s love runs out when you sin.
□ True □ False God stops loving you if you eat too many pickles.
□ True □ False The devil can cut you off from God’s love.
□ True □ False God doesn’t love you when you think bad thoughts.
□ True □ False You lose God’s love if you fall asleep in church.
No-brainers to be sure, because they are all totally false. You might need to seek God’s forgiveness for some of these acts, but you will never lose out on his love for you.
REFLECT: How do you react to the fact that God’s love for you never quits?
PRAY: Spend some time today worshiping the God whose love for you is total and unending.
